Sensei Phillip Tomarchio began his martial arts career in 1987 under Sensei Thomas Ravesi, at Lee Hall on the Oswego State College Campus. Sensei Tomarchio had the opportunity to travel to Okinawa for the first time in 1992 which in his words “Changed his life”. Sensei Tomarchio and Sensei Ravesi again traveled to Okinawa in 1998 and this is when he made the decision to move to the Island and study full time at the Hombu dojo. Sensei Tomarchio and his wife relocated to the island of Okinawa and lived their until 2004. Having the opportunity to train for six years guidance of Takushi Sensei as well as many other top Sensei’s of the association. On Sundays training in a very small group under the guidance of Koki Miyagi in Kobudo. Today Sensei Tomarchio has a dojo where he continues to train daily while guiding the next generation of karate ka.
